1) Reg. (5 v 5) Matches
Regular games or as I like to call them "Regs" are the most classic kind of PVP in League of Legends and it seems is the most popular game type for Summoners today.
Personally, this is one of my least favorite games types to play. Such a Rebel! In my case the regular matches are more time consuming than other modes of play and require much more teamwork. It is not uncommon for a "Reg" match to last over 45 minutes AND you may be unfortunate enough to end up with a team of scrubs and have no way to overcome your adversaries. There is almost nothing I find more upsetting that other players who have 0 teamwork and just want to try 1v5 with the enemy team for their Twitch stream.
2) 3 v 3 Matches
This game play is by far the mode that I avoid. It is a really interesting mode in that you have objectives you can capture to give your entire team a buff and there is one jungle shared by both teams.
Every single time I play this game mode it is such a bewildering experience. It seems that my "daily driver" champions that always pull through for me such as: Cho' gath, Nami, Master Yi, Zac, etc...
Honestly this is probably because I am just bad at this game mode and likely no mater which champion I chose, the end result would be the same. DEFEAT.
3) ARAM (All Random All Mid) 5 v 5
Finally the best game mode of them all! Both team of 5 are pitted against one another with only a single lane to fight! The purposefully scarce bush coverage and strategic objective proportions force both teams into constant "Poke Fights" and continuous action.
ARAM is the fastest paced game type in League of Legends and meshes with my play style the best. Being that I am literally ALWAYS working on a software project when I get home from work, the fast pace of ARAM lets me get in a quick game when I need a breather from a time period of immersion; spending 45+ minutes on a single game seems that it is just too much time to take off. However, it is this same short game time that makes it possible for me to say "Well, just one more...".
The constant turmoil of team fights and the elusive First Blood that is really likely to come from someone on one of the teams blindly running into the bushes where the entire enemy team is already lying in wait. First few seconds to the last drop of Nexus health, ARAM is my favorite game type.
Nerd Gear:
This week I stumbled on one the best League of Legends pieces of Nerd Gear that I've ever seen. A set of Keyboard keys that have the Summoner Spells Icons on the top of them. I had to insta-lock these. F is for Flash.
